Is it stain or is it paint on this table?

So I picked this table up off of a Facebook classifieds. It wasn't a great picture so I wasn't sure about the color or the shape really but it was $20 and I though what the heck and went for it. So I met the lady and picked up my table. When I got it home I realized a couple things. First it was in really good shape. Second it had a drawer (happy surprise) and third it was this really odd shade of brown. Ok so that was three things. I honestly could not tell whether it was stained or painted. I have never run across that before. Well I didn't want to take the time to strip the paint so I started sanding the top down so that I could stain it. I sanded as much as I could but it seemed like whatever was used on it had soaked clear through the wood. After it was kind of streaked with red and brown so I decided to just go with it. I stained the top with a dark stain. I wiped it down and put on a few coats of stain and one coat of poly. The bottom part I mixed up some DIY chalk paint and had it done in two light coat. It took no time to dry and was so easy to distress I didn't even use my sander. The inside of the drawer I painted a really light blue and put the knobs it came with back on. Now this baby is ready to be sold to a new home. I hope someone enjoys this. Here it is..

I can't stop the insanity..

So here are some of the things I picked up today. I got a table with a leaf, a big shelf, a big roll of chicken wire ($2), a wrought iron hose holder, an antique burner and two huge embroidery hoops and all I paid was $37 dollars. Not bad.

You light my world..

I'm in a mad rush to get some of this stuff out of my house. I got these two lamps done this week. The one is a floor lamp. It's metal and very heavy. It has a tin shade and two lights. When I bought it the base was a horrible bright red and someone had painted the shade white. I sprayed it a cute yellow and I sprayed the shade a hammered silver and then used a dark glazed on top of that to make it look like it may have at on point in time. The other one was a wood lamp with a metal base. I used the same hammered silver on this base and then used a green that I already had mixed up on the rest. I destressed and waxed it. I had the shade just hanging out in the attic, so I made a couple flowers and glued them on and there you go. The table behind the lamp will be another post. It's another project done this week.

New name and look..

So I've decided that it's time for a new name and look. I was really happy with the name that I picked for my Blog when I first did it so I've been thinking of a new one. I don't know why this didn't come to me sooner. Well since I changed my name I thought why not change my look as well. It's simple just the way I like it.

A few of many projects..

So I'm trying to get some projects done so that I can have my yearly rummage sale and get some things out of this house. I finished these today and there are many more to go. The little shelf took no time at all and It just got a coat of paint and some pretty paper. The frames I picked up at the thrift store and the live, laugh, love I already had. I just painted the frames and added some paper with some spray adhesive. I used epoxy to put the words on the frames and there you have it. Now on to more projects.
